Man, I may not be called to be a missionary but I can do THAT!
There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them…Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. (Ephesians 12:4,7)
I remember well when Alan Smith shared his story with me. That moment of revelation. And it stuck with me.
Here's the deal: for YEARS, I felt like I needed to do something great. To become someone great. To be called to something great. As though my value as a person or as a disciple was also somehow tied to my calling, my personality, or my accomplishments. But that's a lie.
Sure, I understood intellectually that Christ loves us all the same. That He values all of us. But emotionally, I'd been captured.
I can't tell you how much of my life I wasted trying to become someone better than I was. To accomplish more.
As though God's calling wasn't enough.
Maybe you're in that same place. Maybe you're thinking “I'm not important because I'm not called to be a ______.”

Maybe you're thinking “I'm just a mom” or “I just serve burgers”
But if that's what God's called and equipped you to do, it's enough. His calling and equipping are insufficient. His plan for your life is enough.
You were important enough that the Father sent the Son, who sent the Spirit , who cries out “Abba, Father!”
And what He HAS equipped you to do is enough. Because His call is always to Himself first. And He's the prize anyway.
