Sometimes God redirects our plans in the most unexpected ways. That's how God has moved in Wendell Rovenstein's life throughout the years. From pastor to administrator to working with Billy Graham, his resume is full of unexpected moves.

It was much the same when God let him to begin providing Bibles for China.

Wendell thought he was about to retire. But on a short trip to China, God opened his eyes to the opportunity and birthed the desire to provide legal Bibles to Chinese believers.

Announcement

Last week I mentioned that I'd have an announcement. So here it is. On February 14, 2015, I'll be running a 5k race here in Nashville. And I'm using it as a fundraiser for a missionary my church just sent out to Australia.

Life in Ministry

Looking back over the years, Wendell's life has been a zig zag path of following Christ wherever he leads. Through the years, there have been challenges and failures but God has been faithful through it all.

Revelation

As with much of Wendell's life, the transition into Bibles for China was God-led. While he was on a trip to China with another ministry, he began to see the need and the opportunity. As he prayed about it, God made things clear.

As we talked, Wendell shared that it's possible to buy Bibles, have them shipped to China and watch their distribution. Legally.

Even more, China has a high literacy with only one official language: Mandarin. So there is no extra work required for translation.

Current Ministry

Wendell mentioned that he's excited by so many of the things we can now do with technology. But one of the great needs they see is providing training for leaders in China.

With many people receiving the Bible for the first time, they often don't know how to read it. While they're making some changes to what they are able to provide, Bibles for China is looking for people to partner with them in providing the training our Chinese brothers and sisters so desperately need.

We have a great need for training. Do you have anyone who can come over and train our young leaders? Click To Tweet
